Final Fantasy 7: reminder of the 25th anniversary announcements

During a live organized on June 16, Square Enix celebrated the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII while revealing its future projects around this episode. An event probably more than satisfying for fans since, in addition to the announcements for the mobile games Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis and Final Fantasy VII: First Soldier, three games have been made official by the publisher: the last two games of the Final trilogy Fantasy VII Remake, with Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth and the third installment with an as yet unknown name.

There was also the announcement of a remaster of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII with the release of a trailer for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. It should be a must for anyone who wants to learn more about the story and universe of Final Fantasy 7, especially for those who haven’t made the original opus. The story takes place just before that of the main episode and will allow you to better understand FF 7: Rebirth. Especially since this remaster is expected for the end of the year (one year before Rebirth therefore) and is subject to adjustments to make it more modern.

Indeed, it was the official Final Fantasy 7 page on Twitter that announced the various improvements that players can expect to see when Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is released. In addition to the visual and sound overhauls already observed by some, here are the other adjustments made by Square Enix:

  • Improved character and camera movements
  • An optimized interface
  • A new menu system for battles
  • New musical arrangements by Takeharu Ishimoto (Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts 2…)
  • Voiceovers added to scenes that did not have them.

Something to look forward to this Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, expected this winter on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
