Monday June 13, 2022 was a very important day for Camilla Parker Bowles. Because, Prince Charles’ wife was able to take part in the Order of the Garter ceremony. For the first time, she was not present in the public but in the procession. If this event is usually organized every year, it had not taken place since 2019, because of the Covid-19 health crisis. On Monday June 13, members of the Order of the Garter met again at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. For the Duchess of Cornwall, this was her first ceremony as a new lady companion of the order.

The opportunity to immortalize the moment with Queen Elizabeth II. It must be said that a few minutes before taking the photo which was shared on the social networks of the royal family, an important event was played out behind the scenes. “A key element of Garter Day is the investment of new Companions with the Insignia of the Order. This is done by the Queen, the Sovereign of the Garter, in the throne room. All three seem to be very happy. “Garter Day is usually held every June and is attended by Knights of the Order of the Garter, Britain’s oldest order of chivalry“, is it further specified. The spouses wore traditional outfits: velvet dresses and a hat with an ostrich feather. For her part, Queen Elizabeth II wore her Sovereign of the Garter scarf and used a cane.
