Announced as one of Pablo Longoria’s priority tracks, Isaak Touré is also courted by other clubs, and not the least. Manchester City seems to have clearly entered the dance as revealed by the newspaper l’Equipe this Friday.
By finishing the championship on the second step of the podium, Olympique de Marseille qualified directly for the Champions League. The Marseille leaders must now activate to strengthen the team of Jorge Sampaoli. At work for several weeks already on the summer transfer window, the Olympian president seemed to be advanced on a priority defense file, that of Isaak Touré. OM seemed best placed to attract the Le Havre defender who had even been seen in the bays of the Orange Vélodrome. But today, it seems that the Marseille club is no longer alone on the file and that we will have to be wary of the competition.

Manchester City enters the dance!
We thus learned recently that Lyon was also on the spot. In the columns of the newspaper l’Equipe this sale, we can read that Touré went to Manchester at the invitation of City to visit the facilities of the reigning champion. The English project is to recruit the latter this summer to lend him in stride, surely to Troyes, one of their partner clubs. The HAC expects a minimum of €5 million for its young 19-year-old defender under contract until 2023.

This week the president of OM Pablo Longoria gave the main lines of the Olympian transfer window during an interview with RMC Sport.
“Normally I don’t like to talk about individual situations. The transfer window is important, we have to improve the squad, we have to be demanding. Players have left, they must be replaced. We want a short squad to have a rotation between the players. But our goal is to build a logical project. Several weeks ago we started working on several files, in attack, in midfield with the departure of Kamara. We are thinking about how to improve the workforce. Who can arrive at OM? More and more in France, we like the transfer window. It’s something Italian. I can’t give names. We work in the club. We discuss with Sampaoli. What we can promise is a lot of work to increase the quality of the workforce. (…) It is very important to be competitive in the Champions League. This is one of our goals. We know the historical difficulty of French clubs qualified in C1 to chain competitions, between the championship, the Champions League… The level of requirement of the Champions League, not only physical but above all mental, is very important. You have to be well prepared mentally to be competitive in the Champions League and regular in the league. It will therefore be important to have players who meet the requirements of the club. Jorge Sampaoli’s comments don’t bother me. They reflect the level of requirements that we also have internally”. Pablo Longoria – source: RMC (05/25/2022)
