39 Days to Mars

Arise: A Simple Story – Definitive Edition
What could be better than a little tale full of emotions to share a romantic afternoon? Especially since Arise: A Simple Story is about love, although it does so in a very morbid way. The game of Piccolo Studio indeed opens on your death. Become a kind of ghost, you are held hostage by time and it invites you to relive certain memories, from the happiest to the most painful. It is a journey to the land of the heart and the mind that is offered to you. If the latter is punctuated with puzzles to solve, it is above all by its emotion and its authenticity that it transports you for a few hours. If unlike other games on this list, Arise: A Simple Story was not initially designed to be played by two, it is nonetheless a pleasant experience to live as a couple.

Want to test several small different experiences together? Couch Co-Op Bundle Vol. 2 has something to meet your desires. Focused on local co-op action games, it offers four titles that benefit from an 85% promotion. Suffice to say that level quantity-price ratio, you will be served. But what does this little bundle contain? For arcade fans, first we have Bleed, a fast-paced action game. Rather attracted by travels and myths, direction Shikhondo – Soul Eater; an intense Korean shooter. We stay in the shooter game with Black Paradox, a horizontal scrolling title that will remind you of the classics of yesteryear. Don’t be fooled by its simplistic look. ibb & obb was designed to get your brain in knots and it rises to that challenge with flying colors. Like a Snipperclips, it offers you to pass different levels on one condition: that you succeed, together, the puzzles that are proposed to you. These are based on a very specific element: gravity. It is by studying it and putting it to good use that you will be able to move forward in this colorful little world. ibb & obb is a two-player experience only. If it is possible to find an unknown sidekick via the online mode, the game was especially thought to be shared with two on a sofa. If you are looking for a game to savor like this and the puzzles do not scare you, now is the time to crack since the game has fallen below the 2€ mark.

KUUKIYOMI: Consider It!
We are in a somewhat special case. KUUKIYOMI: Consider It! is one of those video game UFOs that will leave a lot of people on the floor. Just take a look at its refined artistic direction to understand that the title of G-MODE is singular. Presenting you with a hundred daily life problems (or not) to solve, KUUKIYOMI: Consider It! seeks above all to determine whether you are caring or not. And what better way to verify this than by being accompanied by your other half? By adding the two-player mode, the developers have also explicitly said that they hope to see players “build a harmonious and caring relationship” as they move forward in KUUKIYOMI: Consider It! Note that there are two sequels to this game: KUUKIYOMI 2: Consider It More! – New Era and KUUKIYOMI 3: Consider It More and More!! – Father to Son (also on sale at the same price).

Shift Happens
Shift Happens feels a bit like Human: Fall Flat, doesn’t it? Still, if you’re expecting a sandbox game like No Brakes Games, we’re going to have to stop you right away. In gameplay, Shift Happens is closer to an Unravel. As is often the case with two-player co-op games, this is indeed a puzzle game. In the skin of creatures in jelly, Bismo and Plom, you will have to use your ability wisely, namely being able to exchange your sizes and other specificities at will. Through four thematic locations, you will therefore have to cooperate (although the desire to betray each other is sometimes tempting) in order to move forward and overcome this game. Discussion and coordination will be the key words to lead this noble mission accomplished.

Unravel Two
We end with a true classic of cooperation: Unravel Two. Perhaps you have never heard of this little nugget published by Electronic Arts. If so, a little reminder is in order. As its name suggests, Unravel Two is the sequel to Unravel, the first puzzle game to feature little Yarnys. These little woolly creatures must evolve in hostile and sometimes inaccessible lands. To move forward, it is therefore necessary to show speed and ingenuity. A simple concept, but carried out brilliantly, both in terms of the puzzles and the little story taking place in the background. When Unravel Two comes out, the principle has already been proven. And yet, the developers at Coldwood Interactive have managed to surprise us with a small detail that makes all the difference: the Unravel Two adventure is designed for two-player co-op. Whether in substance or form, the title is a success and even stands out as one of the classics of two-player cooperation. That’s why we couldn’t remove it from this list, even if you’ll have to be quick to offer it to you on sale. This will end on Monday.
