Resident Evil is a cult franchise, and its various episodes have inspired fans and aspiring developers alike. For a few years, Capcom has been busy developing remakes, and is showing itself to be more and more firm with regard to these amateur projects.

A new amateur remake dumped

As early as 2015, we heard about Resident Evil 2: Rebornan amateur remake project created using the tools of Unreal Engine 4. Capcom had then asked the small group to stop their work, visibly having in the boxes what was to become the very official Resident Evil 2 Remake. Yet, despite the many titles released and to come, fans continue to work on amateur remakes or reinterpretations. Among the crowd of projects of various sizes, two were making a lot of noise: Resident Evil 1 Remake and Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake. It is especially the Veronica Code, developed by BriinsCroftwhich is the center of attention.

If it is not numbered, it remains nonetheless central in global history of the franchise, since the various arcs find their conclusion in Resident Evil 5. However, its shelving by Capcom questions. The other episodes have had remakes, remasters or HD ports, but the last time we saw Code Veronica in a re-release was the X HD version. in 2011 on Xbox 360 and PS3. It was nevertheless available on PS4 through the Classics PS2 collection.
