This Sunday, July 24, the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France takes place. And just before the start of the race, Sophie Tapie had the honor of interpreting the Marseillaise on the Castellet circuit.
A huge honor. This Sunday, July 24, the best drivers in the world were present on the Castellet circuit, in the Var, for the Formula 1 French Grand Prix. And on the starting line, it was Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) who started in pole position ahead of the two Red Bull drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. But before the pilots took the start, the spectators were able to witness a beautiful moment with Sophie Tapie.
Indeed, the daughter of Bernard Tapie had been chosen to perform The Marseillaise in front of the thousands of curious people who came to watch the Grand Prix. The 34-year-old singer therefore appeared on the circuit, before starting to sing the national anthem. For the occasion, the young woman, dressed in a green jumpsuit on which a red Formula 1 was embroidered at the level of the heart, was accompanied by the Music of the Foreign Legion. A splendid performance which must have certainly motivated the two French drivers, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon.
The pride of Sophie Tapie
It was on July 5 that Sophie Tapie revealed that she had been selected to sing La Marseillaise during the Grand Prix de France. “I have the immense pleasure of announcing to you, after having sown several clues, that I will sing La Marseillaise for the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France at the Paul Ricard circuit on July 24! I am both extremely honored and stressed to the responsibility that this represents, she had indicated on her Instagram account, in the caption of a photo where we see her posing lying on the starting line of the famous circuit. Her subscribers had not failed to congratulate her, and had also had a thought for her father, who died on October 3, 2021. “A thousand auguriiii! From up there your dad must be proud”,“Big The Marseillaise. Your father up there must be super proud”could we for example read.
